Paul "Longshot" Johnson has been involved in Classic Cars and NHRA Drag Racing for over 40 years.
Longshot started his career working in the local gas stations pumping gas and doing small repairs.
Longshot has owned and operated several automotive related businesses over the past 40 years including several gas stations an automotive repair garage and a Speed Shop in the Worcester Massachusetts area.
In 1984 Longshot was certified by the state of Massachusetts as a Vocational education instructor in the automotive technologies.
Longshot taught at Worcester Vocational Technical High School, Blackstone Valley Vocational High School and Joseph P. Keefe Technical High School.
Longshot began Drag Racing in the summer of 1969 running a 1969 Mustang in L/SA.
After winning ten straight victories at Lebanon Valley Dragway Longshot was hooked forever!
In 1974, Longshot purchased his first Funny Car.
This Funny Car was run for Two years in the Pro Comp Category of NHRA Drag Racing at local tracks.
Longshot has been actively involved in NHRA and IHRA Drag Racing for over 20 years, having won the NHRA 20th annual Molson Le Grand Nationals in TAFC.
Longshot has crewed on several Top alcohol Funny cars and Grant Flowers "Voodooist" IHRA Top Fuel Dragster.
Longshot has a great understanding of Mechanics and is very flexible in his capabilities. From conventional normally aspirated Engines to all out Drag Race Supercharged Monsters.
Longshot’s claim to fame has more to do with his perseverance and commitment to the automotive technologies and the love for Classic Cars and Drag Racing.
